Piasc 2022 Hickey Picker Award Criteria & Nomination Form

The Hickey Picker award was created to acknowledge and celebrate those in our
industry who have established and earned a reputation deserving of recognition.

Five areas of significance are part of the overall consideration in selecting recipients:

LONGEVITY
Awarded as a recognition earned through time in our industry. A body of one’s work and
contributions consistent with someone who donates their time in promoting our industry.
REPUTATION
This is meant to underscore the value one has in building and protecting their personal reputation. This usually is measured in and recognized by how one works with others, be it colleagues or clients/customers.
SERVICE TO THE NW INDUSTRY

Has the individual contributed to the NW region in some fashion either through their own business or representing another? Has this person made a difference in growing or sustaining the NW printing industry?

TEACHING AND TRAINING
Has the recipient exhibited interest or dedication to helping others learn

our industry? The idea of “paying it forward” comes to mind when we ask how has the recipient brought others along in appreciating and succeeding in the Printing Industry? It makes no difference if this is in a technical sense or a motivational sense; the idea of sharing for the benefit of others is important.

CONTRIBUTING TO THE PPI ASSOCIATION
It is a positive experience for anyone to be involved with PPI. A selfless contribution of time that demonstrates a commitment to improving the awareness and significance of printing to others. There are many areas of need, so any volunteer work should be recognized as demonstrating good character.
